The Basics of the Law of Attraction

Ramona opened the Meet Up with a Meditation from Deepak Chopra - Meditation.

Our Skype guest was Jane Hogan, a lady we have known for ten years, and one of the best co-creators we know. She spoke of some of her experiences manifesting and what she does to get what she wants.

Over the next few meetings we will discuss the basics of the LOA. This meeting started with an exercise to determine what we want.

We read a quote from Abraham. Relationships I Don't Want, Clarify Those I Do Want... Whenever you know what you do not want, you always know more clearly what you do want. So in a disturbing moment of awareness of another person's undesirable situation, give your undivided attention to the idea of improvement that has hatched from your interaction /observation. And as you learn to do that, not only will you be of increasing value to others, but you will see how your relationships with others adds immeasurably to your own becoming.                     --- Abraham

It is generally not a good idea to think about the things we do not want because thinking about things does what?  It attracts them. Sometimes, however, it is helpful to realize what you do not want in order to eliminate them from our lives. Just don’t dwell on them. With this in mind, we did an exercise listing the top-of-mind things we wish we DID NOT HAVE in our lives. These can be people, places and things we would like to eliminate or change.  Include events from our past that haunt us today. They can be things said or done by our relatives, friends, teachers, coworkers, whatever worries we have – whoever and whatever haunts us today.

Visualizing the memory that haunts you the most – the teacher, relative, ex-friend, lover, coworker – do the following visualization.

Picture a large basket with a handle. Place the haunting memory into the basket and say the following: “You have haunted me for years….. I have learned the lesson you came to teach….. You are no longer of service to me…..You need to leave me now.”  Visualize a bunch of helium filled balloons that you tie to the basket. Say goodbye to the basket and the memory as you release it from your grasp. Watch it rise up into the sky, gently pushed by the breeze, disappearing forever. Feel the lightness that freedom from this unwanted memory brings. Now slowly come out of the visualization.

If it reappears to haunt you, just do this visualization again until it is gone. Later you can do this visualization for the other unwanted memories on your list.

Now let’s build the life we want. On a piece of paper list the things you DO want in your life. Save that list and add to it when you think of something else.

Next we identified the elements of the Laws of Attraction which we will cover in the next few meetings.

The First Law of Attraction - Like Attracts Like:

·         Identify what you want. Be specific. Remember to be careful what you wish for – it may come true. Make a list and keep it with you.

Feel the joy. Create an “I Am” list. When feeling contradicted, think of whatever makes you smile without conflicted feelings.

·         Focus on what you want. Picture the end result with as much detail as possible. Ground yourself.

Set your vibration and keep it high. Align yourself with and be in the vortex. Stay positive about all areas of your life and send out only positive energy to attract the life you desire and deserve.

The Second Law - The Law of Deliberate Creation:

·         Ramp up your desire and believe you will get it. Think of the reasons you should have it. Get excited about it. Feel it – hear it – use all the senses.

·         Positively believe you will get it. Absolutely believe it will happen. Make up a story about having it and tell your story repeatedly. Attach passion to it. Know that you deserve it.

·         Appreciate it when you see it – even if it belongs to someone else. The Universe responds favorably to unselfish approval.

The Third Law - The Law of Allowing:

·         Let your intuition guide you. Take actions that feel right to you as you focus on your desires.

·         Allow the Universe to provide your desires in the manner and form it deems appropriate. Do not preconceive the how and when of your manifestation. Allow the essence of what you want and let the Universe determine the manner and time that is best for you.

Members asked what they can do when they felt “Stuck” in a void. The following excerpt is from “Ask and it is Given”, by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

Life is Always in Motion, So you Cannot be “ Stuck”

Sometimes our physical friends will say, “I’m stuck! I’ve been in this place for a very long time, and I can’t get out of it.  I’m stuck?” And we always explain that it is not possible to stand still or be stuck, because Energy, and therefore life, is always in motion.  Things are always changing.

But the reason it may feel to you as if you are stuck is because, while you are continuing to think the same thoughts, things are changing-but they are changing to the same thing over and over. If you want things to change to different things, you must think different thoughts.  And that simply requires finding unfamiliar ways of approaching familiar subjects.

The meeting closed with the following Abraham rampage of invincibility - Rampage

December Pot Luck with Eddie Conner

Our Skype guest was Eddie Conner who provided reflections on 2010 and a plan to follow for the new year. Here are his suggested steps.

OUT YOUR PASSIONS.
Get your passions outside of your inner self and on to paper or canvas and into your life. Share your passions with like minded people who appreciate your Passionate Perspective.

TELL A NEW STORY THAT MATCHES YOUR DESIRES.

OBSERVATION OF CELEBRATION:
What we observe, we attract.
What we think about, we attract.
What we feel strongly about, we attract.
What we vibrate, we attract.

Choose to observe things that cause you to celebrate. Observe beauty, kindness, loving people, places, circumstances and situations from 2010 to insure a brilliant 2011.

WHAT ARE YOU TRACKING?
Are you tracking your strike outs or your wins?

COUNTING 2010 WINS AND CREATING HEAVEN IN 2011.
Here is a soul exercise that will activate the wins you had in 2010 three times over, which layers the energy of appreciation then projects this energy into your next year, and the next, and the next.
1) Write down a list of what you appreciate.
2) Read the list back to yourself SLOWLY until you feel appreciation in your heart and abdomen.
3) Read the list aloud as if you're reading it in front of a group of people.

LASTLY - MAKE A DECISION.
Decisions are more powerful than second-guessing your desires. Even a bad decision summons more life force energy to us and through us than indecision.

AND BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON AND A GREAT NEW YEAR!

By popular demand, here is Barb VerCande's recipe for Indonesian Sweet Potato & Cabbage Soup

1 Tbs grated peeled ginger root
2 garlic gloves, minced or pressed
1/2 tsp cayenne, or to taste
1 Tbs coconut oil
1 1/2 chopped onion (I used one onion finally chopped)
1/4 tsp sea salt
2 1/2 Cups chopped cabbage (about 1/2 small cabbage)
2 1/2 Cups diced sweet potato (1 lb) I use 3-4 sweet potato
1 quart vegetable broth
1/2 cup almond or cashew butter (I use cashew)
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1 Tbs soy sauce

In a pot on medium heat cook ginger, garlic and cayenne in the coconut oil before adding onion and salt. Cover and cook, stirring often until the onions soften, about 5 minutes.

Stir in cabbage and sweet potatoes. Add 3 1/2 cups of broth. Cover, increse heat and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. In a bowl, whisk together the almond/cashew butter with remaining
1/2 cup of broth until smooth. Add mixture to soup along with tomatoes and soy sauce. Simmer covered until all vegetables are tender.

If you would like a smoother soup you can take a few cups out and puree it then add it back to the rest of the soup.

Next Meeting is Monday, January 24, 2011.

Finding Your Life Purpose - November 15, 2010

Our opening meditation was “The Enchanted Forrest” by Denise Iwaniw, from her CD "Meditations from the Temple Within".

Our Skype guest was Candia Sanders, a medical intuitive and energetic healer in Vancouver, Washington. Her website is www.candiasanders.com. Her talents help clients identify and clear emotional, mental and physical blockages allowing them to move forward toward their life purpose. Candia is a frequent guest on radio shows which are available for download through her website. She is available for private consultations and conducts group workshops listed in the calendar section of her website.

Candia recommends we determine our life purpose which she describes as “what turns you on”. From your life purpose, develop “Your Story” and be the creator of your own world. It is extremely important to stay centered, always doing only those things that belong in your story. A tool for staying centered is to visualize yourself encircled by white light connected to Source so that the behavior of others is unable to penetrate. Use your intuition and listen to your heart to stay grounded within the circle of light as you proceed on the path to your life purpose.

The subject of tonight’s meeting was “Determining Your Life Purpose”.  The idea for this meeting, and much of the material was generously provided by Barb VerCande of www.createanewstory.com.

Abraham says “The basis of life is absolute freedom. The objective of life is absolute joy. The result of life is absolute growth.” “What is the purpose of life? It is joy”.

Simply stated, life purpose is the sum of our goals in life that make us happy just trying to achieve them. To find our purpose, consider:
What thrills you more than anything?
What gives sense to your life?
What do you enjoy and look forward to each day, even if alone?
What comes naturally to you, feels more like play than work?
Does it flow from within and energize you?
            What is worth living for?
            What is worth dying for?
Is your purpose in alignment with your source?
What do you want your gravestone to say?

Members of the group shared their goals in life. We discussed methods used to stay on course and what we are doing on a daily basis to move toward our life purpose. Are your daily rituals and habits aligned with your purpose?

We reviewed the “Purpose of Life Exercise” from Jack Canfield’s book “How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be.

Step 1 – List two of your unique personal qualities, such as enthusiasm and creativity.
Step 2 – List one or two ways you enjoy expressing those qualities when interacting with others, such as to support and to inspire.
Step 3 – Assume the world is perfect right now. Write in a statement, in the present tense, what it looks and feels like, and how everyone is interacting with everyone else. Describe the ultimate condition, a fun place to be, as you see it and feel it.
Step 4 – Combine the three prior steps into a single statement, as in “my purpose is to use my (step 1) to (step 2) others to (step 3).

“Successful people take the time to discover what it is they’re here to do and then they pursue that with passion and enthusiasm.” – Jack Canfield

“Leaving a legacy is like planting a tree.  As that seed grows into a tree, it will provide seeds, so that future generations can then plant their own”.  – Jim Rohn

“Do small things with great love.”  -- Mother Teresa

Next Meeting is our holiday potluck on Sunday, December 12 at 3 PM. Please let Ramona know what you plan to bring.

Mike and Ramona will be continuing the meet-ups through the winter. Tentative dates are January 24, February 28, and March 28. Anyone interested and available to provide rides to/from the airport would be very much appreciated. Also, if you are able to provide “treats” for those three meet-ups, your help would be appreciated.

Choosing Our Reality With Power - Monday, September 20, 2010

The group rejoiced when Kimberly walked in and we were able to move her photo from "intention" to "Manifested" on our manifesting board.

The opening meditation - Unlimited Thinking Meditation by Orin and DaBen
I take a deep breath in, drawing in light from everywhere in the universe as I do.
I link my mind with my higher mind simply by having the intention to do so.
I call my higher self to me, feeling its light all around me. I begin to expand into the light of my higher self, filling myself with light and love.
I think of an area of my life I would like to change such as health, relationship, career, or a money issue.
I start to change this area by changing the way I think about it, and by using my imagination in positive ways. As I hold this area in my mind, I imagine how I would like this area to be.
I picture even more and better than I originally imagined in this area.
Using my imagination I expand the possibilities for this area of my life.
If any thought comes up that says I can't have this, I surround it with the light of my higher self until it dissolves.
I create several positive thoughts about why I may have this in my life.
I now experience some of the future feelings of expansion, growth, and joy that I will feel as what I am creating in my mind becomes my reality.
As I imagine this area in my life, I sense the light of my higher self all around me, adding light to this area.
I open to receive my higher good in this area.
I trust in the universe to bring me the best and highest in exactly the right form and timing.
I am an unlimited being. I know I can have anything I want.
My choices and possibilities are expanding every day. My dreams come true.
I think of one small, positive step I can take today to create what I want in this area of my life.
I now take this step. I allow this or even better to come into my life.
I deserve to have it and I open my heart and receive it.

Our Skype guest was David Tillman, noted psychic, clairvoyant and actor. David explained how he gives power to his manifestation by pulling his energy to his heart chakra. Since our energies are dispersed to all the things affecting us in our daily lives, he makes sure his energy is grounded by pulling only his energy to his heart chakra. When grounded, he sends out his energy through his third eye and asks the Universe to allow his manifestation. To David it appears as a light beam emanating from his third eye.

David provided an example. When preparing for an audition, he sends the light into the audition room ahead of him. The light is filled with warm thoughts to connect with those he is about to meet. He feels his energy meet him at the door and knows if it is working when the people in the room are smiling and friendly as he enters. David’s website is www.psychicdave.com.

Sholeh shared a piece from Rumi entitled “Guest House” that she reads every morning.
This human being is a guest house, every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

The meeting subject is “Choosing your reality with power.” We discussed how we can alter, shift and recreate our reality at will. Occasionally something or someone interrupts our vibration and we feel ourselves starting that slippery slope down, passing bad feelings, past discouragement, maybe even all the way to depression. These circumstances typically fall into one of the following categories: relationships, money, career or health. What can we do to pull ourselves up?

The answer is to recreate the vibration within ourselves that makes us happy. This can be achieved by listening to music, recalling a favorite scene, recalling an inspiring story or quote, laughing at it, or ignoring it. When emotionally moved by the good feelings these thoughts provide, the body releases serotonin which makes us feel good, boosts our immune system and contributes to our emotional health. If these simple steps do not work, we can accept it, appreciate it, or observe it – all without judgment. We can also send love and light to the situation, and surround ourselves with love and light for protection. Most important is to focus on what does work.

Regarding relationships with children, Kimberly offered the following from Kahil Gibran:
Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you. And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls. Their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them but seek not to make them like you. Life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

We conducted a simple experiment to demonstrate the differences between thinking happy versus negative thoughts:

Call to mind someone who really pushes your buttons, a person who perhaps all too often crawls around inside your brain. Let that person crawl for a full minute. Go ahead and notice how you feel. Chances are you’ll feel constricted and uncomfortable, as thought of that person connect to intricate webs of related worries. Now stop and shift your mind to someone who you truly admire. Fully envision that person and allow all of her or his related qualities and feelings to fill your mind. Chances are that you will begin to feel more expanded, relaxed and happy.

Now consider how often we allow the button-pushers to dwell in our minds, rather than the ones we admire. Many people will spend more time on the former than the latter. Indeed research suggests that our minds tend to focus on the negative. By putting our attention on people who bother us, and activating all the neural networks associated with negative people, we become more like them. However, placing our attention on people we admire opens up a different set of neural networks, ones that release serotonin, that make us happy and help us embody those qualities in ourselves.

Kimberly shared The Knots Prayer
Dear God:
Please untie the knots that are in my mind, my heart and my life.
Remove the have nots, the can nots and the do nots that I have in my mind.
Erase the will nots, may nots, might nots that may find a home in my heart.
Release me from the could nots, would nots and should nots that obstruct my life.
And most of all dear God, I ask that you remove from my mind, my heart and my life, all of the am nots that I have allowed to hold me back,
especially the thought that I am not good enough. Amen

We viewed a You tube video by Kute Blackson which can be viewed at You Tube Video.

Next month’s meeting is Monday, October 18. Our Skype guest once again will be Marguerite Manning. She will be doing private readings for all members who send Mike their birth information. He needs your current name, maiden name, the date, exact time and place of birth. Please have this information to Mike by October 8. The subject of the discussion will be “Fine Tuning the Art of Appreciation”.

Manifesting versus Deliberate Creation

Our Skype guest was Liz Layug, an interior designer who incorporates spirituality into design. She addressed changing the balance and harmony in a room. When we enter a room and feel something is off - just doesn't feel right - there are steps to take to regain the balance. Eliminate all the items with negative feelings attached, such as gifts from people with whom you no longer have a connection. This will provide more space for items with positive feelings. Classical music has the highest frequency and will raise the room's frequency. Introducing colored lights will create the mood you want - blue for serenity, green for recuperating from illness, pink for love. To rid a room of bad feelings, place a glass with 2/3 water and 1/3 salt in a safe place for a few days. These steps will create balance and flow in your life.

We watched a you tube segment on deliberate creation and read the following description:

Manifesting is the process of attracting whatever we think about. If we think about something, we are manifesting that something into our lives. It doesn't matter if we think we want it or don't want it. If we think about it, we attract it. If we think we are unlucky, we will be. If we think we can't do a job, we won't.

Getting up on the wrong side of the bed demonstrates the process of manifesting really well. When we start out the day in a negative mood, we keep attracting more of the negative. So, when we are in a bad mood, we must realize that we will be attracting more of the negative and we'd be smart to change our outlook to the positive.

Since we are thinking every second of every waking hour, we are constantly manifesting. If we do not pay attention to our thoughts, we are manifesting by default. If we think or feel "Oh, what's the use...I'll never get it anyway", this is a prime indicator we are manifesting by default. So, the trick is to think about what we do want and to keep our thoughts and feelings positive.

If we think we would like a person in our lives who is personable, smart and considerate, we are thinking positive thoughts and establishing the right mindset to attract that type of person.

Conversely, if we concentrate our thoughts on finding someone who doesn't drink like our last mate, doesn't talk down to people, doesn't do this or that, we are concentrating on what we don't want in a mate. This sets our thoughts to attract what we do NOT want - the negative attributes.

Simply stated, to manifest what we want we must maintain a positive mindset and think about what we do want in positive terms and with positive feelings.

Deliberate creation picks up on the mindset we have established and helps us manifest our desires faster. With a positive mindset, when we think about what we want, picture ourselves having it, and believe and act as if we already have it, we will be filled with positive emotions. The more forceful those positive emotions, the faster we will deliberately create what we want. We cannot hope they will come true; we must be confident in our thoughts. View it as a goal that's already been achieved. It ramps up our feelings.

If we see others who have what we want, and we are unhappy or jealous, we will attract unhappiness and jealousy to ourselves. It is better to rejoice in the good fortune of others and say something like "That's got my name on it". Merely saying it isn't enough; we must truly FEEL rejoiceful.

The difference between manifesting and deliberate creation is this. Manifesting is the process of thinking. Whatever we think about is what we are attracting. So we must keep a positive outlook and turn our thoughts and feelings to whatever we want. Deliberate creation is maintaining that positive outlook and ramping up our positive emotions about those desires to the oint we believe we already have it. That will attract and deliberately create what we want in life.

The meeting ended with a you tube video on hugs.

The Art of Manifesting

Most of us understand the basics of manifesting, but sometimes we just don’t seem to get what we want.  What hinders our ability to manifest the things we really desire?

One possibility is that we are not living up to our contract with the Universe that was set as we entered the world at birth. Our group welcomed Marguerite Manning via Skype into our meeting. Marguerite is the best-selling author of Cosmic Karma, Understanding Your Contract With The Universe. A professional astrologer, her work, like her book, is dedicated to advancing the Universal Law of Karma through the scientific principles of astrology.

Marguerite presented the concept of Karma. When we are born we enter into a contract with the Universe. Our karmic calling is our soul’s promise to apply our talents to excel at our life’s work. Our Karmic debt is the emotional service we owe to the Universe to compensate for selfish mistakes we made in a previous life. This led to a discussion of how reincarnation occurs in alignment with religious teachings.

Marguerite’s website is www.margueritemanning.com . Her book is available on Amazon.com.  We can listen to Marguerite on her radio program, Therapy for the Soul, every other Wednesday at 7 PM on Law of Attraction Radio, accessible through her website.

Lynn explained how she manifested her early retirement when at first it did not appear possible. The group then developed the following formula for manifesting.

First, we must ask for what we want. We should express it, and dream it, and live it as if we already have it, being specific to cover the who, what, when, where and why. Leave the how to the Universe. Then, when it happens, we must allow it to happen. It may not happen exactly as we ask, but allow it to develop as the Universe deems it.

Hindering our efforts to achieve our desires are our egos, prior conditioning, negative feelings in our solar plexus, and other components of self sabotage. To counter these blocks, remember to say what we do want, appreciate our self worth, follow our emotional guidance systems, listen to our inner feelings, find whatever makes us happy, and reclaim our birthright of joy and happiness.

Lynn developed a “Manifesting Board” on which our written intentions can be posted on the left.  As they are manifested we move them to the right.  Between meetings, the group focuses its attention on manifesting everyone’s intentions. The power of a group manifestation will be more effective than each of us manifesting our own intention only. As intentions come to fruition, the posting is moved to the manifested side of the board.

In an “And Avalanche” mode, members commented on what they like about Kimberly in order to gear up positive feelings towards her recovery. The comments made and memories they evoked were amazing.

The group watched a You-Tube video A Gift from the Secret Scrolls.
Next meeting is Monday, August 16, 2010 at 7 PM.
