Mastermind Q & A

Ramona introduced the first time attendees and asked each to tell a little about his or herself.  Then several people shared their “wins” since their last meeting.

Eddie Conner provided a guided meditation via Skype inviting all to share their questions so that the group can provide insight in a mastermind format – the wisdom of group thought.

Ramona led a tribute to our dear departed member and good friend, Kimberly, and relayed the salient points from her funeral ceremony. Ramona read Abraham’s Recipe for Joy which was a part of the eulogy she gave.

Seek joy, first and foremost.
Seek reasons to laugh.
Seek reasons to offer words of praise to self and others.
Seek beauty in nature, beasts and other humans.
Seek reasons to love. In every segment of every day — look for something that brings forth within you a feeling of love.
Seek that which uplifts you.
Seek opportunities to offer that which uplifts another.
Seek a feeling of Well-being.
Know that your value can only be measured in terms of Joy.
Acknowledge your absolute freedom to do any of these things or to not do any of these things — for it is, without exception, your choice in every moment of every day.

We watched a video, Living on the Leading Edge. Three main points were made: 1) Life is supposed to feel good, so it’s OK to have a tantrum when it doesn’t feel good. 2) Get over your tantrum by remembering you created your own reality. So change your thoughts and create the reality you want. 3) Most important, remember you can’t get it wrong - just have a wonderful time and feel good.

Tonight’s meeting was a Mastermind Q & A where members ask any question they want, and the group uses their wisdom and insights to answer. The first question revolved around how to pre-pave the outcome when meeting with someone whose grid you know will be negative and you don’t want that negativity to rub off on you. Some suggestions were:
Before you enter the situation, do not assume that the experience will be negative. Get centered beforehand by doing something fun even if only for 15 minutes. Do a rampage of appreciation about the person.
During the meeting, don’t let their negativity creep into your life and change your grid – go general.  Their negativity has nothing to do with you. Just let it be. Change the subject to something pleasant. If you do this enough times, they will get the message that their negativity is being diverted and will not rub off on you, in effect training them to be nicer for the future.
After the meeting, if you need to realign yourself, try the tapping technique.  Do something you like to do such as singing, dancing, or watching TV – whatever makes you feel good.  Look for something to be grateful for (even if it’s that you only have to spend 5 minutes with the person).  Be thankful that you don’t have to live that way.

Someone questioned Esther’s comment about not minding when her car drifts to the side of the road and feels the bumps of the rumble strip. The comment was referring primarily to relationships, but has applicability elsewhere. The group’s explanation was that contrast is the way most people learn. You have to know what you don’t like to learn what you do like. When you hit the bumps in the road, remember what you liked and disliked about it. A good reference for this situation can be found in chapter 22 of “Ask and it is Given”. It is called Abraham’s Emotional Guidance System.

The scale of emotions, from best to worst, is as follows:

1.       Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
2.      Passion
3.      Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
4.      Positive Expectation/Belief
5.      Optimism
6.      Hopefulness
7.      Contentment
8.     Boredom
9.      Pessimism
10.  Frustration/Irritation/Impatience
11.   Overwhelment
12.  Disappointment
13.  Doubt
14.  Worry
15.   Blame
16.  Discouragement
17.   Anger
18.  Revenge
19.  Hatred/Rage
20. Jealousy
21.  Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
22. Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness

The final question for discussion was that you get more of what you focus on and appreciate. However, if you are in a bad situation and focused on it, you will get more of it. The suggestions were to redirect your focus and think about things that feel good. Appreciate the good things in life and focus on what you do want – not on the bad situation you have. Go more general in your thinking and make your grid more general.

Someone read a poem by Rumi, a 13th century Persian poet. It’s called Guest House.
This being human is a guest house.  Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Ramona read a story about one person’s experience with African children and a good lesson for all.
An anthropologist proposed a game to children in an African tribe. He put a basket full of fruit near a tree and told the children that whoever got there first won the sweet fruits. When he told them to run, they all took each other's hands and ran together, then sat together enjoying their treats.

When he asked them why they had run like that when one could have had all the fruits for himself, they said, "How can one of us be happy if all the other ones are sad?"

Be sure to check out Chris Reynolds’s Meet-Up, the Lakeshore Mastermind Group and consider joining. It is based on teachings of the Global Information Network which follows many of the principles of Abraham’s Law of Attraction.  Chris’ group meets regularly including the winter months.

Our next meeting will be a Holiday Pot Luck on December 9.

Ramona closed the meeting with a video “Get Happy”.

Resistance - Who Me?

  October 1, 2012

The group welcomed new and former members. New attendees shared some information about themselves.

EddieConner opened with a lighthearted guided meditation to empower members to release their resistance.

The first video was Abraham-HicksGo General.

WHAT IS RESISTANCE?  Members answered, it’s a manifestation of our fears and insecurities. It is pain, disappointment and things that feel like rejection to us. It’s pushing back, reluctance to change, fear of the unknown because we don’t know what’s on “the other side”. We only know what we know. And, it’s ego.

Why do we keep going back to thoughts of resistance? It’s a habit. When we resist something it’s like putting up fences to keep our desires out and our negative thoughts and things inside our energy grids. We do it without realizing it. We are comfortable with where we are, so it’s like being on auto pilot. It becomes automatic. Maybe we are just lazy. We learned to do this since we were young and as adults we’re working to pull ourselves back into the stream of pure, positive energy.

How can we end our resistant thoughts? As a group we took turns as offering suggestions to release our internal struggles. Some points were:
Keeping our intentions more general, more relaxed.
Make your desires fun and light so that you feel better about them.
Listen to music that lifts your spirit.
Be in the general flow of things you appreciate. “Go with the flow”.
Appreciate things just for the joy of it.

A member shared how he and his wife overcame resistance relating to money. He wanted to save everything for retirement, while she wanted to live life to the fullest. It took several years, but over time each moved towards the middle and they were able to do some of both. It was out of love that each one gave into the other, but the process also made them love one another more.

What other ways do members use to get out of resistance? We consciously become aware that our every thought, every feeling, every step and every breath is a joyous opportunity for us to shift from what we don’t want to what we do want.

Focus on all things that feel really good. Why? Because when we feel good our negative emotion and all things resistant melt away leaving us standing in our vortex. Look at the glass as half full. Count your blessings. Walking in nature and laughter are all great ways to release resistance.

If we stop caring about IF our desires work or come true, they will present themselves. Don’t picture how it will happen. Rather, immerse yourself in what you want.

Here is an appropriate Abraham quote: “How long does it take to manifest something?  It takes as long as it takes to release resistance. It could be 30 years, 40 years, or tomorrow!”

Members shared amazing stories of how they had resistance about heavy topics and then how they turned their thoughts and feelings around to get miraculous, even extraordinary outcomes.

Remember another Abraham quote “The sooner you start enjoying the difficulty, then the sooner it goes away. The sooner it serves you and then in the enjoyment of the difficulty there is not a vibrational frequency that can keep the difficulty coming. It’s only pain and suffering that keeps difficulty coming”.

Other simple ways to create happiness momentum are:
Drop “How?” from your vocabulary and from your mindset.
Think of resistance as a friend reminding you to clean up your thoughts.
Know that our first instincts are usually the right ones.
Follow your heart and trust your gut-brain.
Learn to let go of things that no longer serve us.
Life is easier when we choose to consciously appreciate things.
Remember, what you do is not who you are.
Act “as if” your desires are here now so that you attract the outcome you want.
Write your desired end result you want today so you attract it tomorrow.
The more pure our intention is the happier we are and the faster we attract.
You have to imagine the life you want
And fine-tune your desires on a daily basis, for the shear happiness of it.

Abraham asks “Why is there never a crowd on the leading edge?” Abraham answers “Crowds are about manifestation; leading edge is about thought. We want you to take your thought to a place that pleases you with complete disregard to how the crowd might feel about it.  We would like to add a little expansion to this conversation about the crowd on the leading edge because there are a lot of us non-physically flowing with you in your leading edge thought, but when we visit with most humans, we’re not the crowd you’re usually looking for. But when we are, your life will shift”.

The closing video was Abraham-HicksLighten Up.

A Deeper Look Into Abraham's Emotional Grid

Ramona welcomed new members and introduced them to the group.

Eddie Conner provided an inspiring meditation to set the stage for our topic this evening and to establish a personal high frequency grid. He asked us to envision ourselves surrounded by our angels and spirit guides and to ask them to guide us in this meditation. In our mind’s eye we imagined a path in front of us. As we walk the path we visualized pure white light, a cleansing light that takes us deeper into the vortex. At the end, the path opens up into a circle where we are greeted by our angels, spirit guides and others. At the center of the circle are all things good. As we breathe in we are filled with white light and all things good invigorating our inner being. The light illuminates our consciousness to form a personal grid every day. As we choose to activate our grid we say to ourselves “I am the light; therefore I attract light to me.” Every day we can cleanse our thoughts and refill the grid with fresh white light.

This evening we are treated to a special Skype guest, Carilyn Davidson, a member of our Burbank Law of Attraction group. Carilyn explained that building a personal grid is similar to building a house. First you build the frame (think of it as the outline of the house). Then you fill in all the parts one by one. Another way of looking at it is to think general, then fill in the specifics as needed.

When you feel things are not going the way you would like (your grid is negative, not positive), just review past negative experiences to see where you built negativity into your grid. This will help you see what adjustments are needed to make your grid positive.

Every morning Carilyn develops her personal grid for that day. She maintains a list of affirmations that help set her grid for that day. They include statements such as “I love my life, I love my clients, my workplace feels like home” and many others. Carilyn uses a Thesaurus to expand the list of words that resonate with her desires.

When she knows a traditionally “grumpy” client is coming to see her, she pre-paves her grid. Some tactics are that she visualizes telling a joke, the client laughing, and the meeting going well.

Carilyn gave an example of her daughter accidentally poisoning her dog. Her daughter got excited and the dog felt it. Carilyn set a grid of wellness which calmed her daughter and sent healing light to the dog. The dog responded and got well.

Carilyn ended with this advice. Set your grid as a framework for what you want. Don’t expect in exact terms. Think general. Then fill it in with emotions such as feelings of giggles and splendor.

We showed a video entitled preparing for what you wantIt is a great video for explaining the grid. The primary tactic is to find a word that best describes the feeling you are seeking. It can be “easy” or “happy” or whatever word resonates with you. Then describe how it feels once you have what you were seeking. Remember if we can hold our thoughts purely for 17 seconds we activate our grid. Do this for 68 seconds and you will create an emotional vibrational match to what you want. 68 seconds of feeling good without contradicting our feelings is equal to 2,000,000 action hours worth of labor expended.

The meeting closed with a cute video of a boy learning to ride a bike.  Believe in yourself and you can ride a bike.

How To Get Over Self Limiting Beliefs

Ramona welcomed the group and introduced new members and guests and asks that you all like us on Facebook.

Eddie Conner provided an inspiring meditation via Skype, setting the stage for us to rid our old belief systems that no longer serve us and hold us back, and replace them with healing messages and a whole new belief system. Eddie can be heard every Saturday at 3 pm Eastern on GVBRadio.com. If you click on this link and locate the June 30 show in the archives, you can listen to Mike and Ramona's show. And, Eddie appeared on the Morning Show in Australia (equivalent of Good Morning America in the US). To view his segment, click here.

Eddie Conner is coming back for his 12th year of workshops. Be sure to sign up for 5 Simple Ways to Create an Amazing Life on Thursday, July 26 and/or OMG!! How Did I Attract This? on Saturday July 28.

Ramona asked for updates and good news from the group, and showed an Abraham video The Story Source Wants to Tell. A member suggested a good book is Dying To Be Me by Anita Moorjani.

We enjoyed a Skype visit with Sue Elliott, editor-in-Chief of Law of AttractionMagazine and a member of our Burbank Law of Attraction group.  Sue explained that even though she has practiced the law of attraction for many years, she had to overcome her fears of failure while launching the magazine. Concerns abounded with just about every aspect of publishing - attracting articles from well-known authors, distribution, sales, and reader acceptance. Sue realized she knew how to use the law of attraction and that is what got the first issue published. With the second issue she owned it and transformed it into a more pleasurable experience. Now the publishers are in discussions about increasing the frequency of publication.  Visit her website for more information, and be sure to friend her on Facebook. Law of Attraction Magazine is available at Barnes and Noble, Walmart, and other major retailers nationwide such as D & W Supermarkets.

Some of the prevalent self limiting beliefs are that we can’t, we’re not good enough, we will probably fail anyway, we may never be able to succeed, others are better than us and he or she won’t want someone like me. There are many more. Many come from our childhood experiences. We need to recognize and replace them with a new belief system.

Abraham says “A belief is a thought that’s rehearsed over and over again.” Our challenge is to recognize these beliefs and think new thoughts until they become our new belief. For example, when we see fancy cars or expensive homes, our faulty belief system tells us we can’t have them. Abraham has a good video (not shown at our meeting) that explains how to get around these faulty belief systems. It is called Nothing is More Important than Feeling Good. The group worked together offering up suggestions to help members that felt low-frequency about the pictures, to feel good again with bridging techniques.

When we see skinny models, our faulty belief system tells us we can’t have that kind of body.  Someone shared how she stopped seeing herself in an unattractive, overweight manner and instead began to truly see herself through the eyes and hearts of her close friends and family members that loved her unconditionally. She stopped using her physical eyes and started allowing the heart and love of her close friends to be how she chose to see herself and she's been happy ever since.

Another member shared that when she loses weight - it always finds its way back to her. That's why now she donates the extra pounds to the Universe to redistribute into pure, positive energy.

Mike showed beautiful images of couples together and in love with one another. They were smiling, in tune and blissful in their attraction.  Ramona asked, "What feelings does this bring up for you?" Many people said, "I wish I had that." and "That looks like it feels so nice" while others wanted to hit the lovers with a truck. The group had a blast talking about these lovers and the law of attraction. They said, "What you see in others is who you are."

"I don't have a relationship but I do put myself in their shoes and think, how fun is this."

When we see people like that, it is there for us to put ourselves into their situation.  The universe is showing us that soon that could be our experience.

The number one thing everyone agreed on is it's not our place to figure out the "how" and "when" of anything. Our job is to "just be" in the flow and generally enjoy everything around us that is working - for the joy of it.

We closed with a video entitled Lighten Up.

Next meeting is MONDAY,  AUGUST 13. Please note the change to a Monday meeting night.

Getting Back Up When You're Down

Eddie Conner set the stage for our meeting with a meditation via Skype, followed by Ramona who welcomed new members and guests, and asked for updates from members since last month.

The opening video was “Jack and Jill”.

Getting Back Up When You’re Down – Abraham Style

We’ve all been there at some time in our lives.  We feel so “Down” we’re not sure which way is up.  What does Abraham say about how we got there and, more importantly, how we get back up?

When we are down we can have feelings of depression, tiredness, sadness, helplessness, aloneness, feelings of being overwhelmed, and we think about the negative aspects of our lives.  People around us all seem to be negative and bring us further down.  As Abraham would say, we are disconnected from source.

We have the complete power to concentrate on what is right or wrong.   Why do we choose to concentrate on the negative?  Sometimes it is more comfortable just staying where we are out of habit because change is challenging to some.  If we have surrounded ourselves with others who are depressed and have negative attitudes, it is difficult to get ourselves back up and be positive.  And sometimes we just get so busy with life we forget to reconnect with Source Energy.  We need to readily identify when we are down or getting down, and figure out how to get ourselves back up.  But how do we do that?

Ramona told the story about when she was in NYC staying at a hotel while Mike was in the hospital. On a particularly bad day, Eddie Conner made her walk back to her hotel a long way that brought her to a park where all the trees were covered in white lights. It brightened her outlook and turned a bad day into something good.  Ramona showed photos of what Mike looked like in the hospital, and another photo of the two of them on the beach which is what she concentrated on from then on.

Since our beliefs are the thoughts we keep thinking, we need to change our habit of thought.  There are several strategies that work.  Think about what’s right in our lives.  Daydream about what we want.  Focus on what we do want instead of what we don’t want.  Do something different that’s positive.  Focus.  Pray.  Ask questions of ourselves, but be sure to ask in the positive.  Instead of asking “Why am I gaining weight?” ask “How can I continue to feel healthy?”  Think about what we are grateful for.   Remember, 17 seconds of pure thought is equivalent to 2000 hours of action.

As Abraham says, even though we may want to move forward in life, we may have one foot on the brakes.  In order to be free, we must learn how to let go.  Release the hurt.  Release the fear.  Refuse to entertain the old pain.  The energy it takes to hang on to the past is holding us back from a new life.  Think about what you would let go of today to improve your frame of mind.

An exercise that works is simply appreciating all that others do for us, no matter how small.  This can change our mental frame from negative to positive.  Saying “thank you” to someone for their kindness (holding a door open for us, etc.) can solicit a “you’re welcome” or a smile to brighten our day.  And the more thankful we are for the kindnesses of others, the more positive our frame of mind becomes.

Even during the worst of times there is a bright, loving part of us that’s always available.  It’s called our higher self and it is always available to talk with you and help you.  Some people refer to it as “that little voice on my shoulder (or in my head) that guides me to do the right thing.   Ask your higher self why you feel down.  You might be amazed at what your higher self has to say.  These conversations serve to reconnect us to Source.

For deeper depression, write a story of how we want our life to be.  Put it away and look at it periodically.  See how much progress we have made towards our goal.

Some recent discussions by Abraham explain the concept of an emotional grid.  When feeling down, think about general things that are true, feel good, and are easy to think about.  Then fill in that grid with more specific items that are higher frequency thoughts, feelings and emotions.

The closing video was Joyous Rampage.

Another good video is "You can be happy".

Our next meeting is Tuesday, July 10, 2012.   The topic will be “How to get over self-limiting beliefs”.
